Upgrader

Overview

Most items that upgrade have conveyors attached to them so you might be looking for the conveyor category.
Machines that 'upgrade' are known as upgraders. There are currently 332 upgraders in the game. Upgraders are the main bulk of the layouts that will be built in Miner's Haven; upgraders can change the following properties of the ore that gets 'upgraded' by it:

Ore Value
'Status' Effects (such as fire, sparkles, frozen ores, etc.)
Machine Tag Count
Ore Size, color & density.

Machines mainly increase the ore value by multiplying, increasing it by a percentage of the ore value that is currently going through the upgrade part (e.g. ore value is $10, upgrade part adds 50% onto it, the end result would have it be $15), or adding a certain amount of cash on the orevalue.

Machines are essentially items with a conveyor attached with a part that modifies the ore, and each time it does touches it, it modifies it again.

This depends on what type of machine you're using, if you can use it multiple times, it'll continue doing what it had previously done unless specifically noted, whilst if you use one that you can only use once (e.g. Quantum Ore Cleaner), you won't be able to use it again unless you use an item that can reset the tags for you (e.g. Tesla Resetter).

Most machines have their "upgrade part" reachable by its conveyor, some, however, do not, (such as the Morning Star), this is where you would need to have the ores go through the Ore Cannon or any Hydraulic Ramps to reach, other machines "upgrade" through charging, pulsing or portably (such as the Portable Tractor Beam).

There are a multitude of different types of machines in Miner's Haven, they are mainly categorized as the following:

Whereas Other Machines change certain properties of the ores themselves, such as ore size, ore color & ore density.

Dollar Cap Upgrading Machines

These machines only upgrade ore if they're below the cap that the machine was assigned to. It is recommended to place these machines at the first of the layout so that they can make the ore worth as much money as they can. New players get one called Large Ore Upgrader.

Limitless Upgrading Machines

These tend to be more difficult to obtain but they increase the ore value regardless of what the ore is worth. The catch is that most of these machines can only be used a certain amount of times, some examples may include Portable Ore Advancer and the Lunar Refiner. These can be solved by using the following:

Note: You cannot use the Black Dwarf and/or the Void Star if they are upgraded using the star family (Morning Star, Red Giant, Neutron Star, Catalyzed Star, Nova Star & the Blue Supergiant), the only exception to this is the first upgrade for the Catalyzed Star.

Note: You cannot use Daestrophe with the Void Drive.

Some of the machines can upgrade ore without a cap and be used for an unlimited amount of times, however, they have a probability of destroying ores.
