Shiny Reborns are extremely rare variants of normal Reborn items that were added in The Shiny Patch. When the player rebirths, there is a 1/1024 chance that a Reborn Item will be replaced by its Shiny Reborn counterpart, regardless of the Reborn's tier. This process occurs after all other percentages have been calculated, including Rare Reborn chances. Shiny Reborn chances are not directly influenced by the amount of lives skipped. The chances of obtaining a Shiny Reborn can be increased to 1/717 by purchasing Shiny Charm Gamepass for 1000.

Furthermore, Limited Reborns such as the Pumpkin Hut are twice as likely to appear as a Shiny Reborn, at a 1/512 chance.

Shiny Reborns are mainly recolors of their Reborn counterparts; their changes are purely aesthetic and there is no inherent advantage in using a shiny item over its normal counterpart.

In-game, Shiny Reborns have their own tier, stars are added on both ends of their name, and they have an added prefix to denote the specific type of recoloring.

Shiny weapon givers like the shiny variant of the Sword God Shrine will have their weapons altered in accordance with their coloring. Additionally, shiny Pulsars such as the Stardust Pulsar will change the Gargantium Mine's color in accordance with their coloring.

Shiny Reborns currently cannot be fused or salvaged. Additionally, they are not compatible with their normal counterparts.

Certain Shiny items can be turned into their Evolutions by combining the evolution and the shiny in the cauldron next to The Craftsman.

Limited Shiny Reborns items are Soulbound, meaning if you get one before you sacrifice, it will not be held in escrow and instead be returned immediately. When The Third Sacrifice update comes to the game, every Sacrifice Proof item you have will be held in escrow until Z+1000 (This includes Soulbound items).

Trivia

• Shiny Reborns are a direct translation of the shiny mechanic from the game Pokémon, in which Shiny Pokemon, recolored versions of the original, have a very rare chance to appear in place of a normal one.
• The first person to obtain a Shiny Reborn ever was jayjuh with the Blazing Interstellar Conqueror, a decimal rarity item.
• Shiny Charm used to be a 20% chance increase (1/800) before being buffed to 30% (1/717).
• The only Shiny Reborns to have visual changes other than a recolor are Turtle Dignifier, Ore Skillet, Gift of Trolling, Walrus Blaster and Sword God Shrine.
• All shiny items have special sparkle particles.
