The hungry spirit haunts this shrine. It prefers ghostly and interesting ore, but it feasts on all. 2017 Halloween Exotic

Overview[]

The Hungry Spirit is an Exotic-tier furnace that was added in Part II of the Halloween Event 2017.

It multiplies ore value based on its upgrader counter, fire presence, and transparency.

The conditions to be met are listed below. Note that upgrades based on the conditions are stacked multiplicatively, not additively. x50 and x2 become x100, not x52.

Variables affecting multiplier
Upgrade Counter Multiplier
Less than or equal to -10 x50T
Greater than -10, but less than or equal to -5 x2.5T
Greater than -5, but less than or equal to -2 x500B
Greater than -2, but less than or equal to 0 x50B
Greater than 0, but less than 20 x50
Greater than or equal to 20, but less than 40 x100
Status Effect
Fire x2
Transparency
1 (Invisible - Hopeless Bog) x5
Greater than or equal to 0.8 but less than 1 x3
Greater than or equal to 0.5 but less than 0.8 x2
Greater than or equal to 0.3 but less than 0.5 x1.5
Greater than 0 but less than 0.3 x1.1
0 (Opaque - most ores) x1

The maximum multiplier of the Hungry Spirit would be for an ore that has less than or equal to -10 upgrader counter, has fire, and is completely invisible. This would yield a multiplier of x500T.

However, it is also worth noting that, even if ores have been upgraded a lot (>=40 upgrader counter), by putting your ores on fire and upgrading it with the Hopeless Bog, the Hungry Spirit is still able to process ores at an unusually high rate of x1000, which is better than a lot of Reborn-tier furnaces.

Trivia[]

  • Sage Redeemer, Sage Justice and this item is one of the furnaces that makes a sound after being placed.
    • This is also the first non-enhanced item to make a noise when placed down.
  • Creator's Note - "I made this in about 2 hours in a low-quality hotel room with bad wifi, low light, and no plugins. Sometimes you just have to be resourceful with what you have to still make stuff that looks cool as heck."
  • The laugh when you place it down is from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" at the end of the song. It is slowed down a slight bit and the voice is much deeper than what it actually was.
